Covid-19 in Photos
If you would have told me just a few months ago that everyone would be walking around grocery stores in masks because of a virus I never would have believed it. Then throw in beach closures, no concerts, all sporting events cancelled and Disneyland closing I would have laughed it off and looked at you funny. Well here we are. Insert your favorite viral apocalypse movie here and call it a day. Coronavirus, or Covid-19, is a real thing, as we all know by now. Covid-19 is deadly and the repercussions are…kind of strange.
Well, not just because I’m going stir crazy at home or my photography business has been put on indefinite hold but I picked up the camera because I felt compelled to document these strange times. So here’s a visual tour of history in the making in Southern California.
Enjoy and stay safe!

Huntington Beach Pier closed.

PCH and Main Street in Huntington Beach. What would normally be congested with cars and people are now nearly empty.

Closed and near empty beaches.

Onlookers are forced to admire the beach from behind yellow tape.

Covid-19 info boards. A common fixture in the OC.

Get Covid-19 on your elbow not your hands. All joking aside, anything helps.

The best thing is to just not touch at all...

Unfortunately the positives are often overshadowed by the negatives but when you find the good stuff they are nice little gems.

I still can't get used to seeing masks everywhere.

Near empty beaches are a rare site on a nice day in So. Cal.

Free Covid-19 testing sites took a long time get going but we're starting to see them a little more often.

With all non-essential stores being closed, streets have become desolate. Main Street in Huntington Beach would normally embody crowded sidewalks.

Restaurants have been ordered to close their doors except for take-out and delivery.

Entire shopping malls have closed down including South Coast Plaza.

No weddings here at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach. This one certainly hits home with all of my photo events being cancelled for the year.

If there's any kind of upside to all of this it's the lack of traffic. Beach Blvd during rush hour looks more like Beach Blvd at 3 AM.

All schools have been forced to take classes online.

Empty college parking lots in the middle of a semester is a strange sight.

The great Costco craze. The toilet paper still sells out before it hits the floor.

Like in true apocalypse style, grocery store shelves are next to empty as people stock up on food.

The 405 during rush hour. No words needed.

Empty bars and restaurants as the economy takes a major hit.

Sneeze-guards are now a thing.
