I wanted to share some of my favorite 2020 photos from Death Valley National Park, a backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada’s Pioneer Basin, Comet Neowise and the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction and also some protests and wildfires. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do. And I hope 2021 is, well, not 2020. But seriously, here’s to bigger and better things! Happy New Year!
The holiday’s are fast approaching! It’s time to celebrate with a family photo! Mini sessions are now available for only $99 (digitals included!).

Huntington Beach.
Last week Brandon and Rheanna finally tied the knot! This wedding has been about two years in the making because Covid-19 kept pushing back their wedding dates. They finally decided to have a very small wedding ceremony at the South Coast Botanical Garden in Palos Verdes.
Here’s a few photos from the their big day.
As things start to open back up, work has been picking up. Here’s some photos from Aaron and Raquel’s sunset engagement session in Huntington Beach.
On Tuesday June 2nd, 2020, I photographed the Hollywood, Ca. protest. These are some highlights from the day’s events (including some looting). Contact for licensing - brian@fmkphoto.com.
For the last four years I’ve been asked to provide photography for the Loma Vista Memorial Day ceremony in Fullerton, Ca. This would have been the 82nd year of the ceremony but sadly, it had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. Here are a few images from past years. It’s the least I could do to honor the fallen. Happy Memorial Day.
If you would have told me that everyone would be walking around grocery stores in masks because of a virus I never would have believed it. Then throw in beach closures, no concerts, all sporting events cancelled and Disneyland closing I would have laughed it off and looked at you funny. Well here we are. Insert your favorite viral apocalypse movie here and call it a day. Coronavirus, or Covid-19, is a real thing, as we all know by now. Covid-19 is deadly and the repercussions are…kind of strange. Check out these photos from around So. Cal. of empty streets, closed beaches, no rush hour traffic…
Introducing Safer at Home Portrait Sessions! What's that you ask? Portraits right at your doorstep. For only $199 I bring the studio to your porch (or local spot of your choosing).
It was perfect weather for Lee and Julie’s engagement session in Palos Verdes last week. I love their look! Check out the highlights!
I recently photographed Wags N Wine at The Pasea Hotel in Huntington Beach. If you don’t know what Wags N Wine is check it out! Waggin’ Trails is the rescue foundation that put on this great fundraiser. Check it out!
Renee and Asher tied the knot at the Portofino Hotel and Marina in Redondo Beach, Ca. I loved being a part of their big day. Renee and Asher really made the day fun with their playfulness. You’ll immediately see it in the photos. Check it out!
Emily and Austin were married at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, where Emily volunteers. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding! I’m so happy for this amazing couple! Check out the highlights.
It’s that time of year again. I’m honored to be able to photograph the Teen Project Fashion Show every year. This year’s event was held at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. Check out the photos!
I had a blast with Matt and Michele during their engagement session last week. And little Butterscotch was so dang adorable and photogenic!
I had a blast with Brandon and Rheanna on their engagement session last week. We started out in Old Town Torrance for a rustic urban feel and finished off in Palos Verdes with some nice sunset light...and Peacocks. Check out the highlights of these two lovebirds.
What an awesome couple Nick and Grace are! I photographed their wedding recently at Lake Oak Meadows in the Temecula wine country and had a blast! Check out the highlights!
Last weekend I ventured down to La Jolla to photograph Joe and Michelle’s engagement session. We started out on this gorgeous bluff over looking the ocean and then down to the rocky beach for sunset. They were so willing to do what ever it took to get the shot - even it meant precariously standing on the edge of a cliff because it would be epic. Check out these highlights!
I had a blast shooting Jesse and Kim’s engagement session in Encinitas last week, especially with their four dogs that I immediately fell in love with. I’m a sucker for dog kisses… But I digress. Kim and Jesse are a great couple and so easy to work with. It’s easy to see, just check out these highlights! I can’t wait for the wedding!
It was an absolute honor to be able to work with the HBFD and provide photography coverage for the annual awards ceremony last week. This year’s reception and ceremony was held at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Here’s some highlights. Enjoy.
Recently Emily, Austin and I went down to the Dana Point harbor for their engagement photos. They have a passionate connection to the ocean. Emily even volunteers at the Ocean Institute where they will have their wedding next year. And of course it will be ocean themed. I'm pretty dang excited about their upcoming wedding which will have open exhibits at the Ocean Institute including touch tanks and the like.
But this day was a perfect day for a walk on the beach. Check out these highlights!
Ryan and Mel's Washington State wedding.
I was so excited that Mel and Ryan asked me to travel to Washington State for their wedding! A wedding in the forest is right up my alley! But what I loved the most was Ryan and Mel. Ryan and I go way back but it was the first time I was able to meet Mel and it was easy to see why they made just a great couple. These two are everything I could ask for in a couple. They are so down to Earth, loving, playful and fun beyond belief! But really, it was all about family and friends getting together and having a good time.
Check out these highlights!
Maryann and Brad's Huntington Beach engagement photos.
I recently met Brad and Maryann at the Huntington Beach Pier for their engagement photos. Maryann is an old neighbor of mine and I was definitely excited to get the phone call with the big news of her wedding next year! When I met Brad for the first time I could see why these two fell in love. What a great couple! I think these photos capture their care free personalities perfectly. Enjoy these the highlights!
I recently shot Chris and Traci's engagement photos at downtown Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach pier. What a great couple these two make. Check out the highlights!
I am beyond honored to work with this amazing organization every year. The Teen Project. Each year I photograph their fashion show fundraiser and each year I am humbled to be a part of it.
Enjoy these photos from this year’s event.
