Breast Cancer Haircuts - Family Shaves Mom's Head Then Cuts Theirs
As a photographer you hope to convey the emotion of a scene through your images so the viewer can feel it; so they can be a part of it. In the case of the Medina family I was consumed by it.
Elisa was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year. She recently started the arduous journey of chemo treatments and even more recently began losing her hair. It wasn't long before she called her family over (including me) to cut it all off before anymore fell out by itself. They took turns cutting/shaving their mom's head then the daughters put themselves under the scissors in an unforgettable display of solidarity.
Here is that emotional visual sojourn.
